  • Cannonball Ireland is a National Media Event and receives extensive coverage on National TV, National Print media and National Radio.
  • The media potential of Cannonball is unrivalled and it brings with it a very positive public image.
  • Press Books are available from 2010 – 2019 and a full independent evaluation report for 2019 is now available detailing press coverage, reach and media value. In 2019 we achieved a cumulative value of €1,685,127 and there were 8,764,105 opportunities to see Cannonball in the media. This is a conservative estimate as we only monitored print and online media. There was also extensive and valuable national broadcast media and social media that is not included in this figure.
  • Media Partners 2FM also brought extensive national radio coverage with cross station promotions, competitions, interviews, Outside Broadcast Unit and celebrities.
  • Over 250,000 people line the streets all over Ireland which also brought extensive local media coverage.

CARS

Some of the unique cars on Cannonball in previous years include Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg, Carrera GT worth an estimated £4,000,000 sterling! These top of the range cars bring with them high net worth individuals from all backgrounds who travel the country for the duration of the event.

On the other hand novelty cars including the Delorean (Back to the Future) complete with Doc and Marty McFly, Rezvani Tank – the only one in Europe, and of course, in 2019 the Pope Mobile!, Smokey and the Bandit Truck and The Ghostbusters Sheriff car attract crowds of all ages who come out to line the streets and view the 190 Supercars.

The roar of 190 super cars create an electric atmosphere in each of the host towns along the nationwide route with a minimum 10 stops.

CELEBRITY CANNONBALLERS

Bruno Mars has joined Boyzone’s Shane Lynch along with former Miss World Rosanna Davison and husband Wes Quirke whilst celebrity chef Rachel Allen, The Voice Presenter Kathryn Thomas, and RTE’s Miriam O Callaghan have also had a Cannonball pit stop or two. Models Georgia Salpa, Aisling Quinn, Hazel O Sullivan, Emma Quinlan and Holly Carpenter have been keen Cannonballers over the years as well as Roz Purcell, Nadia Forde, Kerri Nicole Blanc, Karena Graham and Rachel Wallace. Ryan Tubridy, Mick Galwey, Gerald Keane, Andy Quirke, and Lisa Murphy also geared up. Cannonball never disappointsin the celeb stakes. Nicky Byrne, Colm Hayes, Ryan Thomas, Cormac from Tallafornia, Pritchard from Dirty Sanchez MTV, Mary Robinson and Jenny Green have all been on board.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny took time out of his busy schedule to drop the famous chequered flag as well as Glenda Gibson, Michelle McGrath, 2FM DJ Colm Hayes and Ivor’s Andy Quirke. In 2017 Cannonball celebrities included music acts The Four of Us, Paddy Casey, Daft Punk, Christy Dignam, POPGODS from AMA Music Agency and Robot Ted and Bumblebee from Audionetworks were a huge attraction for spectators.
